Lirael is a fantasy novel by Garth Nix and illustrators Leo and Diane Dillon, it was originally published in 2001. Named for its central female character, Lirael is the second in his Old Kingdom trilogy, this book comes after the book Sabriel ( which i also wrote about).  It is 720 pages long and is separated in three parts.( Paperback Edition )The book after in the series is Abhorsen. Garth Richard Nix is an Australian writer who specializes in children’s and young adult fantasy novels, notably the Old Kingdom, Seventh Tower and Keys to the Kingdom series. He was born on July 19, 1963, Melbourne, Australia. Right now he is 55 years old. One movie he made is The Missing Key. The awards he got are Aurelius Award for best young adult novel, Aurelius Award for best fantasy novel. He has one child and his name is Thomas Henry Nix.
